This sensational all-new adventure, taking in buzzing cities, diverse landscapes and natural marvels, all in the renowned comfort and style of a Journey Beyond rail expedition. With its rugged coastline, sun-kissed beaches, unique outback, and exhilarating capital cities, Australia’s southeast is stunningly diverse.
With departures in December and January each year, the Great Southern travels between Adelaide and Brisbane showcasing spectacular scenery and an unrivalled experience both on and off the train. Over three or four days (depending on your direction of travel), you will be immersed in some of Australia’s most spectacular coastal and inland scenery while tucking in to creative menus showcasing premium local food and wine. This stunning journey is like nothing else in Australia!

Departing Brisbane, you’ll travel south into the rolling hills of New South Wales before indulging in an incredible beachside dining experience in Coffs Harbour. Meander through the historic vineyards of the Hunter Valley or explore beautiful Port Stephens by land or sea, before heading towards regional Victoria and Melbourne. Enjoy a mixture of relaxing time on train and immersive Off Train Experiences, as you journey toward your final destination of Adelaide.

*Prices are advertised in Australian dollars and are per person based on twin share or solo occupancy. Prices are based on lead in prices available throughout the 2022 & 2023 rail season with departures from Adelaide or Brisbane. Pricing is correct as of 13 December 2021 and subject to change, surcharges, taxes and may vary depending on departure city. Offer is subject to limited availability or until sold out. Airfares from/to your home city are not included but can be booked at an additional cost and are subject to change and availability until ticketed. Airfares may require immediate payment and ticketing, please check payment terms with your Travel Specialist at the time of booking. PAYMENTS: For Everyday Rail Journeys and Everyday Holiday Packages: (1) Deposit - this payment is per booking, non-refundable and payable on confirmation; and (2) Balance - the difference between the deposit and the total Fee.
