Crochet Cruise - Celebrity Solstice - from Sydney March 2018

Any Cruise, Anywhere, Any Time

Crochet Cruising

Improve your skills or perfect the art form on a luxurious South Pacific crochet cruise!

Are you an avid crocheter or would you like to learn this magical and increasingly popular craft? Would you like to be cruising the high seas with fellow crafters?

We know cruising calms the nerves but so does crochet so our inaugural Crochet Cruise in March 2018 will weave a perfect match. Hosted by Cruise Express with workshops led by world leading crochet teachers, you’ll sail through the South Pacific aboard Australia’s finest cruise ship, the stylish Celebrity Solstice, while joining onboard workshops to make one of five beautiful designs to take home with you. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, you’ll have everything you need to start crocheting, with every guest receiving a free Welcome Kit worth over $250 containing yarn, hooks, needles, cutters, patterns and more.

We will work together to make  Dream Weaver blankets which will be auctioned at the end of the cruise, with the proceeds helping children with learning difficulties. Bring your friends or non-crochet partners who can join in various onboard activities! This exciting cruise promises to be a fun and enriching experience.

But be warned – once you combine cruising with crocheting, you’ll be ‘hooked’ forever!

Your experts and hosts

Jenny King – Crochet Teacher

Leading our onboard craft sessions will be popular Australian crochet expert, designer and blogger, Jenny King, who has written 20 crochet pattern books and is in hot demand as a teacher of crochet around the world. Jenny fell in love with crochet at the tender age of eight and has since devoted her life to sharing her love of this increasingly popular craft. Jenny’s calendar of workshops around Australia and overseas is a full one so we are indeed fortunate she can join us aboard Celebrity Solstice.

Lynda Tomkins – Crochet Teacher

Lynda learned to crochet from her mother when she was a youngster growing up in Central Queensland. It remained a hobby for her as she pursued a career in accounting until 2014 when she decided a change was needed and crocheting and yarn became her focus. She bought Crochet Australia and has been teaching crochet and running crochet workshops on the Sunshine Coast Queensland ever since. Lynda has completed her Master of Advanced Crochet Stitches and Techniques with the Crochet Guild of America and likes crocheting garments and accessories. She is also currently working through the Certified Instructors Program for teaching crochet.

Moira Mevissen – Cruise Express Host

Moira has worked in partnership with Cruise Express for over 10 years. As a frequent cruiser, Moira loves life at sea but her passion for cruising was matched in 2016 by her discovery of crochet. “I just get lost in the magic of it and I can’t wait to see others enjoy crochet’s many charms on this very special cruise” Moira says. Moira is also a hospitality professional and will ensure everyone – including partners – is looked after and enjoys themselves.
