Your experts and hosts
Emily Littlefair – Crochet Teacher
A world without crochet would be pretty dull, according to one of Australia’s foremost creative crochet designers and teachers’, Emily Littlefair, who will create a special, nautically inspired project for us on our crochet cruise.
An avid blogger and ‘Loopy Stitch’ Instagrammer, with tens of thousands of followers, Emily has been crocheting since she was 11 and had her first book of crochet published in 2017 which was so successful her publisher has asked for her to craft another one. Emily lives on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast with her three young boys and her fiancé, whom she is trying to convince to learn crochet.
Moira Mevissen – Cruise Express Host
Moira has worked in partnership with Cruise Express for over 10 years. As a frequent cruiser, Moira loves life at sea but her passion for cruising was matched in 2016 by her discovery of crochet. “I just get lost in the magic of it and I can’t wait to see others enjoy crochet’s many charms on this very special cruise” Moira says. Moira is also a hospitality professional and will ensure everyone – including partners – is well looked after and enjoys themselves.
Joy Clements – Crochet Teacher
Joy is an inspiration for people who love crochet. Picking up a hook five years ago, she discovered her greatest passion in life! Her designs have been featured in Crate Crochet Subscription Box and are soon to be published in both ‘The Granny Square Sourcebook’ (in 2019), and ‘I Like Crochet magazine’. She is a brand ambassador for Nurturing Fibres, a beautiful hand dyed yarn company. A fellow designer has called her a ‘Rising Star’ of the crochet world.
She plays with colour and texture, continually learning new stitches and techniques. With her patience, persistence and knowledge, she’s here to help you on your individual crochet journey.
Kathy Hodgetts – Crochet Teacher
Kathy taught herself to crochet almost a decade ago and crochet quickly became her passion and obsession. She was making so many items she started selling at local markets monthly whilst continuing to work part time, and loved seeing the smiles on peoples faces when they were looking at her creations. Kathy loves sharing her skills, love and passion for crochet and creating with others.
Her classes focus on creating an item in one or two sessions – learning the skills needed to complete that particular item that has been carefully selected. Additionally she also shows what the students can further create with those skills. Other classes then build on these skills. She does provide a warning to her students – “Crochet is addictive” . . . but what an addiction to have!

“Thank you for organising such a brilliant itinerary for our own holiday in South America recently. Santiago, Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls and our cruise aboard Celebrity Eclipse around Cape Horn to Chile were all wonderful.
One of the highlights was Iguazu Falls which were mind-blowingly incredible. The package you offered was excellent, with quality all the way for a great price. Our transfers all worked like clockwork and the guides you organised for us were outstanding.
The service from Cruise Express was wonderful too so once again, thanks for putting together such a great itinerary.”

South America Journey including a Cruise onboard Celebrity Eclipse
Thanks again Hardy and Cruise Express for making our holiday one of our best in a long time.
“What can we say? Your cruise tour in Japan last month was a fabulous holiday, surpassing all our expectations from Day 1! Hardy (Cruise Express Tour Director) did a brilliant job organising and escorting the group around Japan and we experienced so many different things which were always fun to do. There were beautiful cherry blossoms everywhere and everyone in the group was so friendly – it felt like a family as Hardy said.
Our favourite part of Japan was Kyoto. We’ve always wanted to visit the old Japan and we were well satisfied.
Thanks again Hardy and Cruise Express for making our holiday one of our best in a long time. We hope to travel with you again in the not too distant future.”

A big thank you to Tina in your Erina office for organising the cruise for us
“Ten members of our family sailed together on Ovation of the Seas to Tasmania last November but last month, six of us cruised on Ovation to New Zealand. We like the ship because it’s big, spacious and uncrowded and there is a lot for everyone in the family to do. I love watching my grandkids having fun on the ship’s thrill rides. My 46-year-old son also won the poolside contest to find the ‘sexiest man alive’ which was fun. A big thank you to Tina in your Erina office for organising the cruise for us. She does everything for me. It’s so easy, and your staff are always so bright and bubbly.”

I don’t like flying so travelling by sea and rail was perfect – so relaxing
“At the age of 80, this was my first ever cruise and first time away on my own since the death of my husband. I had a ball. Everyone was so friendly and I spent a lot of time with some of the other ladies aboard the ship and train. I don’t like flying so travelling by sea and rail was perfect – so relaxing. Special thanks to Kieran in your office for his wonderful help in booking the trip for me. This was also my first booking with Cruise Express but I’ll be booking with you again.”

“I want to thank Cruise Express for the wonderful time I had on your Royal Rail and Sail trip last month. The staff worked tirelessly on the ship and train to keep us comfortable and happy. Queen Elizabeth was fabulous and the scones and treats on the train were delicious. I love travelling – it’s such a joy – and I hope to do another journey with you soon. Meanwhile, I will be singing your praises!”
