2019 Rail Spectacular featuring five days of heritage rail from Sydney

Any Cruise, Anywhere, Any Time

The Rail Spectacular 2019

Come with us and experience awesome!

Join us for five spectacular days of relaxation, exploration and sensory overload this July. We will take you on an Australian heritage rail journey quite unlike any other, travelling behind some of the country’s oldest and finest restored locomotives and carriages.

Far away from the well-worn main road, this is your time to sit back as you enjoy sweeping views of the New South Wales and Victorian countrysides savouring the simple delights of travel, as it used to be.

From Sydney, you will travel towards the Victorian border onboard heritage locomotive 4204 and special guest locomotive B61 – also known as the Bernie Baker. The man himself (who this locomotive is named after) will be there to delight us with special insights into Australia’s iconic rail heritage.

Delightfully, between Albury and Seymour enjoy the chance to ride in a ‘royal car’ – the State Cars were once reserved only for royal and vice-regal passengers including King George VI and the Queen Mother, as well as Charles and Diana, the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Stopping for two nights in Melbourne, there is ample time to explore, shop, visit your favourite restaurant, or try the cake shops on Acland Street in St. Kilda. During our Melbourne stay we travel to Geelong by steam, to Queenscliff on the Bellarine Railway and then by steam to Ballarat with a local mining tavern dinner before heading back to Melbourne.

The exhilaration doesn’t end there, as the next day head north to Sydney – all the way enjoying delightful meals, conversations and possibly make a few new friends. While this is a magnificent heritage train holiday, it is so much more – if you love traveling ‘off the grid’ and exploring our great country, then this is the trip for you!
