An east to west journey across Australia in Platinum Class aboard the Indian Pacific train and a luxury Christmas voyage back east for Sydney’s famous New Year’s Eve festivities form part of a new, transcontinental, rail and sail package aimed at travellers keen to celebrate the 2020 festive season in style.

The exclusive, 19-night package will see passengers board one of the world’s most famous trains, the Indian Pacific, in Sydney on December 16, 2020, for a three-night, 4352km journey across the country to Perth.

After covering the world’s longest, straight stretch of railway – measuring 478km – guests will arrive in Perth on December 19, 2020, for a two-night stay at the luxurious hotel, Como The Treasury, set in historic buildings in the heart of Perth.

The next chapter of the cross-country pursuit then awaits – a 14-night Christmas and New Year cruise from Perth to Melbourne aboard the elegant, 700-guest Azamara Pursuit. Likened to an elegant, country club at sea, Azamara Pursuit is an elegant, boutique ship boasting an ornate drawing room, six restaurants and cafes, a cabaret lounge and panorama lounge, a pool, two jacuzzis and a wellbeing sanctuary as well as personalised service. Passengers enjoy a complimentary range of spirits, wines, beers, soft drinks, water and specialty coffees.

Christmas Day will be spent at sea, with visits to the Margaret River region, Albany, the chalk-white beaches of Esperance, Adelaide, Kangaroo Island and Sydney where the ship will be docked in White Bay for two nights on December 31, 2020, and January 1, 2021 to allow guests to enjoy the city’s world-famous New Year’s festivities. The cruise concludes in Melbourne on January 4, 2021.
