AUCKLAND – HAMILTON – NAPIER (B,D) Early this morning, travel from Auckland to Hamilton, where you’ll board your touring coach before continuing to Napier, the heart of New Zealand’s celebrated Art Deco Festival. Begin our tour by travelling through the rich Waikato countryside to Taupo where we will stop for lunch (own cost). Continue on our journey to the Hawkes Bay region and to the seaside city of Napier. Known as the ‘Art Deco City’, this beautiful town boasts stunning architecture after being rebuilt in the early 1930’s following a devastating earthquake. On arrival, enjoy an orientation tour of the city before making arriving at our accommodation for the duration of the tour. Tonight we will enjoy dinner at the hotel. After dinner, enjoy the beginning of the festival with the opening ceremony just across the Marine Parade at the Soundshell. Overnight: Scenic Hotel Te Pania, Napier or similar |

This morning is at your leisure to enjoy the Art Deco Festivities. This afternoon, take to the streets to enjoy the Classic Car Parade. The Royal New Zealand Navy Band will lead the way for some of New Zealand’s oldest cars from the mid 1890’s through to the mid 1930’s. After this fascinating display we will journey out to Mission Estate Winery, the oldest winery in New Zealand, established in 1851 by the French Marist religious order, for a tour and wine tasting. SUN 21 FEB |
NAPIER (B) This morning we explore Hastings to view the Art Deco buildings around the city. We also include a stop to the popular Hawke’s Bay Farmers Market, a place where the region’s finest growers and artisan producers supply their wares so you can buy direct from the source. Time is available here to grab a bit to eat for lunch (own cost) before returning to Napier. The remainder of the day is at leisure for you to enjoy the Art Deco festivities. MON 22 FEB |
NAPIER – HAMILTON – AUCKLAND (B) After breakfast this morning we enjoy a guided tour onboard magnificently restored Art Deco Vehicles. On this guided tour, we will be accompanied by an experienced chauffeur who will give us a light hearted tour of Napier where we will learn about it’s intriguing history and fascinating highlights. We then depart Napier and travel through the Esk Valley and over the Kaimanawa Ranges to Taupo, where there is time available to browse the local town centre and purchase lunch (own cost). We continue on our way to arrive at Hamilton where you will farewell your touring coach and continue on to Auckland for your final night. This evening is at leisure.
