The United Kingdom – August 2025

Having used Cruise Express previously for a Rock the Boat cruise my sister & I didn’t hesitate to travel with them again.

We have just returned from 4 weeks in the UK where we spent 4 nights in Ireland prior to joining a 4 night land tour & a 12 night British Isles cruise. We then had another week exploring on our own.

We cannot recommend Cruise Express highly enough! Malcolm went above & beyond to sort our pre & post tour accomodation & train tickets & all the details associated with the cruise. Nothing was too much to ask & if he didn’t know the answer at the time he would get back to us quickly.

He always followed up to ensure we were clear on all facets of the trip. Our entire trip went smoothly thanks mostly to Mal’s organisation.

Thanks also to Meg who gave us so many tips on where to go & her own personal travel experiences which gave us the confidence to extend the trip. Definitely booking travel with Cruise Express again in the future.

Dinosaur Country – August 2025

We had an absolutely fantastic time from the time we arrived in Townsville to returning back to Brisbane. From the accommodation to the food and the tours I would recommend it to anyone.

Our tour leader’s commentary was fantastic and they both certainly know and have a passion for their jobs. We will now check out all the photos and relive the adventure”.

Mekong & Cambodia – May 2025

We used Cruise Express to book the Mekong River Cruise with Travel Marvel. The expertise and experience of the Cruise Express team have helped us plan many adventures since 1996. In 2025 they delivered again, and thank you Malcolm for once again advising extra time here and there.

Travel Marvel, lead by our guide Mr Yi was excellent, extremely well-organised and attentive to specific needs. I fainted in the heat in a temple at the beginning of the trip, and the care and first aid administered were beyond any expectation. I wish to thank everyone who helped me as I did not incur any lasting injury.

We really appreciated the location and standard of hotels booked and the Travel Marvel ship was very comfortable and a delightful travel group.

Antarctica – March 2025

Antarctica wasn’t a destination that I would have picked to go on a holiday, but Robyn had it on her bucket list and asked me if I would like to go. I actually went with the attitude that if you see some snow, ice and a few icebergs, then you have seen it all.  Boy, was I wrong!

Our first and last two days we stayed in Buenos Aries and luckily we were provided with our personal tour guides who were very informative about the culture and history of the city.

I was totally mesmerized by Antarctica. I couldn’t believe how many different shapes, sizes and colours there are in the icebergs.  We saw plenty of wildlife, seals, whales and umpteen penguins.  Penguins are just too cute for words and luckily we spotted a few that had babies.  Before we went on our trip, we were warned about the stench of penguin poo, and as I learnt from the research crew it is known as guano.  It was a bit smelly, but definitely not as bad as I was expecting.

We learnt a lot from Chimu’s very enthusiastic research crew about what is being done to keep Antarctica in a pristine state.  We were told to stay 5 metres away from the penguins and to stay still while they travel along the penguin highways.  In some cases this rule became difficult as some of them would come straight toward us, that is until they realised we weren’t a rock, then they veered off in another direction.

The ship, Ocean Endeavour was not like the gigantic cruise ships that take thousands of passengers; it was a small ship and catered for about 200 passengers.  Because of its size, they were able to venture further into the Antarctic Circle and all passengers had the opportunity to go ashore on the Zodiac boats.

We were lucky on our trip that it snowed on two days.  Even though the temperature was apparently about zero, you didn’t really notice that it was that cold. The operation of the daily outings by Chimu, actually the whole trip was very well organised.

I am so glad that I took this trip, it was definitely something different.
