With departures in December, January and February each year, the Great Southern travels between Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne showcasing spectacular scenery and an unrivalled experience both on and off the train. Over three or four days (depending on your direction of travel), you will be immersed in some of Australia’s most spectacular coastal and inland scenery while enjoying creative menus showcasing premium local food and wine. Prices are based on lead in prices available throughout the 2025 / 2026 rail season with departures from Adelaide or Brisbane. Gold Single pricing is based on a compact sleeper cabin featuring a bed that converts to a seat by day and shared shower/toilet facilities located at the end of the carriage. Gold Twin pricing is based on a comfortable sleeper cabin featuring a private en suite with upper and lower berths that convert to a three-seater lounge by day. Gold Premium pricing is based on a newly designed, contemporary cabin that converts from a lounge by day into sleeping berths at night with compact en suite. Platinum pricing is based on Spacious Double or Twin cabin with en suite equipped with separate shower, vanity with cupboard space, and toilet. Offer is subject to limited availability or until sold out. Airfares from/to your home city are not included but can be booked at an additional cost and are subject to change and availability until ticketed.
