A fabled rail journey traversing Australia and linking the West Coast to the East aboard the iconic and luxurious Indian Pacific.
Named for the two oceans the train connects, the Indian Pacific travels between Perth and Sydney on a spectacular 4,352km crossing. This is one of the longest, continuous train journeys in the world and there is no better way to see the spectacular interior of our great country.
This epic transcontinental crossing between the Indian and Pacific oceans entered service on 23 February 1970 as a joint operation between the Railway Departments of NSW, South Australia, Western Australia and the Commonwealth. Since then passengers have been able to experience and appreciate the incredibly rich diversity in landscape all in one continuous rail journey.
Follow in the footsteps of those that dared to venture beyond the city limits – the legendary adventurers, goldrush prospectors and bush pioneers who forged their lives in Australia’s spectacular yet unforgiving interior.

Prices are based on Everyday Fares for Platinum Cabins & Advanced Fares for all other cabin categories. Prices are based on July 2026 departure and are subject to changes with surcharges and taxes. Prices may also vary depending on departure date and departure city. Offer is subject to limited availability or until sold out. Airfares from/to your home city are not included but can be booked at an additional cost and are subject to change and availability until ticketed. Airfares may require immediate payment and ticketing, please check payment terms with your Travel Specialist at the time of booking. Off train experiences vary dependent on direction of travel. PAYMENTS: For Advanced Purchase Rail Journeys - available for bookings 6 months in advance and are 100% non refundable. Everyday Rail Journeys - a 25% deposit is due upon booking and journeys are 100% non refundable 45 days prior to departure. For bookings made at 45 days or less prior to travel, full payment is required at the time of booking. Flexible Rail Journeys are refundable and changeable up to 1 day prior to travel.
