Indian Pacific: Sydney to Perth Itinerary
Day 1 | Sydney | Board the Indian Pacific in Sydney. As the train winds through the breathtaking Blue Mountains, explore the comforts of life onboard, get acquainted with your cabin and fellow travellers. After settling in, savour your first meal – a regionally-inspired dinner paired with all-inclusive fine wines and beverages. After dinner, join fellow guests for a late night drink or head back to your cabin for your first night onboard. – D |
Day 2 | Broken Hill

You arrive in the ‘Silver City’ of Broken Hill as the day begins, where you embark on a morning of Off Train Excursions to discover the mining history and artistic culture of this unique town where the streets are wide and there’s a pub on every corner. Lunch is served onboard as the Indian Pacific enters the southern tip of the spectacular and ancient Flinders Ranges.
Arriving in the city of Adelaide in the afternoon, you have the choice of a tour of the city, a visit to the world famous Barossa Valley or McLaren Vale wine regions (seasonal), or a trip to the beautiful Adelaide Hills featuring the culinary delights of Hahndorf. – B,L,D |
Day 3 | Nullabor / Rawlinna | You’ll awake to the seemingly endless expanse of the Nullarbor Plain. Breakfast is served as you travel along the longest stretch of straight railway track in the world. This evening, your sense of wonder will be ignited as you enjoy the tranquility of dinner under the brilliant desert stars in the remote and beautiful Rawlinna (seasonal) – B,L,D |
Day 4 | Perth | Breakfast is served as you glide through the mild skies and cool green vales of the Avon Valley on your way to Perth, arriving after an onboard lunch. Disembark the train at East Perth Terminal after completing the epic 4352km journey. – B,L |
Indian Pacific: Perth to Sydney Itinerary
Day 1 | Perth | Your journey from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific Ocean begins as you pull away from the platform in Perth. Settle into your comfortable cabin and get to know the creature comforts of life onboard. Enjoy a delectable dinner onboard as you glide through the picturesque landscape towards the township of Kalgoorlie. – D |
Day 2 | Kalgoorlie & Cook | Awake to see the sunrise unfold across Australi’as largest oubback town, Kalgoorlie. This morning, delve into theis mining town’s fascinating past and present with a visit to the region’s gold-rush eroa, now moder-day, Super Pit mine. . Reboard the train for brunch with the remainder of the day spent on board at leiusre. Enjoy the train hospitality as you take in spectacular views of the seemingly endless expanse of the Nullarbor Plain. Cross borders and time zones entering South Australia. Late this evening the train will pull into the almost-ghost-town of Cook for a nightcap, late-night bonfire and stargazing experience. – B,D |
Day 3 | Barossa Valley | Spend the morning travelling through the pastoral lands and communities of remote South Australia as you travel past Flinders Rangers and the Adelaide Plains. In the afternoon, visit the world-renowned, wine-producing region of the Barossa Valley. Delight in a signature dining experience in a vintage cellar. – B,L,D |
Day 4 | Broken Hill | Wake up in Broken Hill and explore the Silver City with a choice of four Off Train Experiences. Return to the train for for lunch and admire the scenery as you travel through regional NSW. – B,L,D |
Day 5 | Sydney | Wake in the picturesque Blue Mountains. See the majestic Three Sisters at Echo Point and the views at Jamison Valley before completing your journey on our chartered NSW rail service (fully hosted by our staff) into Sydney Central Station. Alternatively, stay on board the Indian Pacific to travel directly to Sydney. – B |
